It takes a great deal of courage to be you no matter what. It takes enormous emotional strength to be able to stand your own ground and face the world.
“Coming out of the closet” as people commonly referred it to, is not just telling everyone you are gay. Is a lot more than that. It involves facing the social estigma, facing your parents, your friends, your coworkers and saying “this is me”. This act involves facing our greatest fears, such as the fear of not being loved, the fear of being rejected and the fear of not being enough.
I admire those people who come out. I admire those that even thought they might face their greatest fears, they are willing to take the risk and stand true to themselves.
I admire those people that are not willing to lie to themselves anymore and fully accept who they are. They are willing to honor themselves regardless of what other people think.
They stand true to them.
I admire each person that has built the courage to let their light shine, not needing approval. Who have accepted themselves so much that it doesn’t matter if others accept them.
To some degree we all need to come out. Not because sexual preference but come out and embrace who we are, no matter what. Come out and BE who we are at all times, instead of trying so hard to be accepted by society.
Come out and embrace each part that makes us unique.
Fearless!!
