I know it sounds cheesy, but when I was little I wanted to save the world. Actually the idea kept on even when I was in college.
How did I want to save the world ?
I didn’t know, but I knew that I wanted to do something. Initially, my goal was to save everyone. Yes, the entire planet. Save from what? I wanted eliminate hunger, end wars, protect the environment and so on, you get the idea. Yes, I might have watched too many superheroes films. Regardless, I wanted to do something big. Really big as as matter of fact, so I pursued environmental law to create legislation that would protect the environment.
As I studied law, I realized that my goal was maybe too big. So I narrowed it down and I decided to help people with their problems.
I focused on helping people and that was how I was “saving the world”.
As time passed , I have realized that I can only help me and I can only change me. I can only solve my issues and that’s how I can “save the world”. I take responsibility for myself and my actions. I can change how I act or react. I can give more love, share more love and accept more love. I can give my time, I can listen and I can be present.
Regardless of how many people I assist as clients, it is up them to change. Maybe to some small degree I can make difference in someone’s life but it is really up to them to do the rest. I can do my part, but the rest is up to each person. I might not be able to save the world but I can do something to save someone’s world. Starting with me.
So with that in mind, Are you doing your part ?
Are you saving your world ?
